Daylilies are finally beginning to show their beauty.   In just a few weeks the field will be full of blooms.   Here are a few that have begun their display already.   Open House weekends begin Saturday, August 9th!

First Bloom of the Season!!!

Here it is~the first bloom of the season!  Elfin is a small, 2 inch, orange- yellow flower, with a very short scape (stem) -10-20 inches.   This one, once established, will boom for a few weeks, giving a taste of what's to come.

Happy Spring, Everyone!

It really is spring here in the northland.   Our grass is green, the leaves are budding, there's a lovely spring rain falling today and the daylilies are coming up nicely.  Dates have been set for the 2014 Open House weekends - August 9/10th, August 16/17th and August 23rd/24th, Saturday/Sunday, 8:00 am - 4:00 p.m.  Bloom season was later last year, and I am anticipating the same type of season.

If you'd like to order plants earlier in the season, the list is available here - click on the tab "Plant List" and scroll down (the photo is the same on each page).  I am extending the 10% discount for orders through June 30th.  Photos will be available soon.

The farm is open by appointment in addition to the Open House weekends....weeders welcome :-).

Invincible Summer

What a wonderful thought for the beginning of the cold & darkness of winter.  Within all of us is the bright light and warmth of summer......no matter the season.

A big thank you to all who visited the farm this past summer - new & repeat customers, family and friends. Thanks, as well,  to all who helped out with various duties, including the most favorite task - weeding.

I wish you all a Happy Solstice, a Merry Christmas and look forward to the 2014 Daylily Season. In the meantime, bask in the warmth of your own invincible summer, and dream of daylilies.

Last weeks of daylilies
